Halloween wedding at Eastington Hall

Today saw me heading back to the wedding venue Eastington Hall Gloucestershire near Stonehouse to do hairstyling for Kim's wedding. We were so lucky to have another beautiful sunny autumn morning.

Eastington Hall has a beautiful setting and the elegant Georgian Mansion is just perfect for weddings. It's been very sympathetically restored and decorated in an elegant understated way which allows wedding parties to have their own personality and theme.

Kim had decided on a very simple yet elegant style with half the hair taken up into flat barrel curls which I then wove and arranged gerberas and chrysanthemums into and tiny diamante clips were scattered through and around the curls to add sparkle! A very elegant style which is perfect for a wedding if the bride doesn't want a hairstyle which is too big.

It was a really relaxed morning getting Kim ready and with this beautiful hairstyle she looked stunning!

As I left a retro sweetbar had been set up in the entrance hall for the wedding guests to enjoy later on and pumpkins had been placed on the front steps to welcome guests ... very trick or treat!! The sherbet lollies and flying saucers looked very tempting but I managed to restrain myself!!!

I headed back to Gloucester to arrange some run throughs for some of my 2010 brides, bookings for next year are coming in thick and fast, it looks like next year is going to be a busy year with wedding hairstyling!!

Bristol Marriot Royal Hotel

A trip down the M5 to Bristol today to do Helen's hair for her wedding at the Bristol Marriot Royal Hotel.

This was a new venue for me, although I know Bristol well and do hair for lots of Bristolian brides I had never been to the Marriot Royal. This place really is a magnificent hotel with a feel of good old fashioned service and the most luxurious surroundings having recently had an £3 million restoration.
Helen's wedding hairstyle was a classical rolled chignon with a diamante hairpiece and veil. Helen has the most beautiful auburn hair and this classical style looked amazing on her.

I styled Helen's hair first and then followed on with her Sister's style which was an elegant side chignon with jewelled hair pins to add sparkle and detail.

As I was leaving the Palm Court was being set up in preparation for the ceremony. Normally used as one of the hotel restaurants the Palm Court feels like a grand state room from a country house, a really beautiful place to get married.

Dumbleton Hall Wedding

I left Gloucester at 7am this morning to drive up to Dumbleton Hall in Worcestershire to style hair for Laura and her wedding party.

I've done hair for several brides that have got married at Dumbleton Hall but I hadn't been there until today. It really is the most beautiful venue, as you drive up the long drive through the private parkland to the hall you are greeted by the most amazing view of this gothic mansion.
I started styling hair for both bridesmaids, one naturally curly which was scrunch styled and the other longer straighter hair which I set on heated rollers and then styled over to one side.

Next to be styled were both Mum and Mum in Law (to be!) then I styled Laura's hair having set it on heated rollers we then styled it into a beautiful side chignon complimented by an antique style headdress which was a peacock feather comb with diamante and aurora borealis from the fabulous website Flo & Percy

Return to the Manor

Another early start and back to a venue that's becoming one of my regulars ... 'Hatherley Manor' a couple of miles out of Gloucester on the way to Tewkesbury and today was the wedding between Bride Launa and Paul from Tewkesbury.

Launa has the most amazing thick hair which was just perfect to style. It has the most wonderful natural curl, we decided at the run through to define the curl more with GHD curls and to sweep up the front section and give fullness to the crown.

Launa had also chosen an amazing jewelled headdress which was very Moulin Rouge and a lovely antique coloured veil .... another beautiful bride!

Hatherley Manor, Down Hatherley, Gloucester

I drove over to Hatherley Manor just outside Gloucester this morning to style Sandra's hair for her wedding. We had tried a few ideas out when we did her trial earlier in the year and we eventually decided on a straight style with part taken up and styled into formed curls, complimenting the pearl and diamond tiara perfectly.

Sandra had booked into a beautiful panelled bridal suite at the manor, I had a really relaxed time doing her hair for her. Just as I was finishing the styling of Sandra's hair Clare arrived to do her make-up and as usual she did a fabulous job, Sandra looked amazing!

As I was leaving the wedding party the sun was breaking through and promising to be a wonderful day!

Cotswold wedding's

I had to be up and ready at 5.00am this morning to travel to the village of Sapperton near Cirencester to style Ellen's hair for her wedding, Autumn had well and truly set in as I drove in the dark over to Ellen's.

I started by styling Ellen's sister Katie's hair. This was a really nice style to do as it was a new twist on a french roll which was twisted from one side to the other of the head and leaving tumbling curls over one shoulder ... very sophisticated and romantic.

For Ellen's hair we had decided on curling it and building the crown up slightly to compliment the stunning jewelled and pearl tiara.
Ellen had also chosen the most beautiful jewel encrusted wedding gown and pearl and diamond cathedral length veil.
Clare (Pure Pampering) was doing the make up for the entire wedding party and we had a really great morning getting everyone ready for the day ahead.

We were also entertained by Ellen's 10 year old neice who came out with the most wonderful quote that I think sums up most weddings ...' I like weddings, they're weird, everyone gets up incredibly early and then runs around like crazy!'
After the wedding Katie was holding her reception at the Kingscote Barn.

The Greenway Country House Hotel Shurdington

Once Clare and I had finished at Sapperton I drove over to The Greenway Hotel just outside Cheltenham to style Paula's hair.

I went to Paula's home in Berkshire earlier in the year to do the run through and we decided on a fabulously glamorous updo that was very Audrey Hepburn!
The Greenway hotel is an incredibly luxurious hotel and we had a great afternoon (especially when Paula insisted we should have some wine together!) Clare arrived to do the make up once I had put Paula's hair into rollers, and really made Paula look fantastic.

Jan from Blenheim photography also arrived to capture some memories for Paula and Craig's big day, it soon seemed like we were having a party in the bridal suite!! Paula made the most stunning bride and we all really enjoyed helping her look amazing!

Eastington Hall Gloucestershire

Eastington Hall is a relatively new wedding venue for the Cotswolds, recently refurbished the Georgian mansion offers a beautiful location for weddings.
Arriving at 8am I was styling hair for Ruth and her bridesmaids Victoria and Georgina.

I started with styling Victoria and Georgina's hair first. Victoria had beautifully glossy sleek hair which I curled slightly before sweeping it up into a casual 'updo' which we then place jewelled pins into. In contrast Georgina's hair was naturally very curly, she had already decided on having it put up with a plait on one side, very much a contemporary style!

I went up to Birmingham earlier in the year to do Ruth's trial for her and we decided on this tousled chignon style decorated with antique brooches as the decoration, she looked amazing!!
As I finished Ruth's hair the preparations were in full swing with caterers arriving and flowers being delivered.
I left Eastington and headed of to conduct Helen's trial run in Gloucester for her wedding in November.
