So, what an eventful year!! This was my first year styling hair for weddings in Gloucestershire. I have been styling hair for weddings for 18+years but having set up in Gloucestershire this has been the most eventful year ever!!
I have been inundated with wedding requests and completed my 45th wedding of the year last week. It has been a fantastic year and I've enjoyed every single up and down of each and every one of the 45 weddings!!!
Thank you to all of the brides who have asked me to help on their special day.
Merry Christmas and a very happy New Year .... especially to all the brides already booked with me for 2010!

Today I was styling the hair for Becky who's wedding was my 45th wedding this year! (Not all blogged on here)
I arrived at 7.30am to style the hair for all 4 of Becky's adult bridesmaids, mum in law and best friend.
I curled and blow dried all the bridesmaids hair, some were completley put up and some were half styled up leaving soft tendrils and waves down.
Clare (Pure pampering) at about 11.am to do the wedding parties make-up and they looked fantastic as she completed the transformations.Having had snow over the previous days and a very cold sharp frost we all felt amazingly festive!! The bridesmaids crimson dresses and fur stoles really set the Christmas theme.

Ruth's wedding today was held at the stunning location of Clearwell Castle in the 'Royal Forest of Dean'.
Ruth's one stipulation when I did her trial run was to 'look like a Princess', between Clare (Bridal Make-up Specialist @ Pure pampering) and myself I think we certainly fulfilled that wish!
I used GHD's on Ruth's hair to add body and curl, it was then swept up into beautiful intertwining formed barrel curls. Once all the curls were pinned into place I then fixed Ruth's tiara and veil into place using the double hold system that I use on all brides to make sure the headdress and veil can't accidentally slip and stays secure all day.
Once Clare had applied Ruth's stunning make-up I gave the hair a quick burst of gold glitter spray which gives a very subtle shimmer to the hair to perfect the Princess look!!

An early start this morning to drive over into the Cotswolds to a favourite venue of mine Kingscote Barn near Tetbury. A Truly beautiful converted barn that offers a unique venue in an area of outstanding natural beauty. It was a relatively mild morning as I arrived to style the hair for Caroline and her bridesmaid sister and Mum.
The barn greets you as you descend the steep drive from the main road, twinkling Christmas tree in the main window facing the drive, all very seasonal!
Caroline stayed the night before in 'Spring Cottage' the beautiful country cottage adjacent to and belonging to Kingscote Barn.
I started by putting both Caroline and her sisters hair into heated rollers to add body before blow drying 'Mums' hair into a modern funky style and then attaching her fascinator.
Caroline had decided on a chignon/bun hairstyle. This is a very 'now' bridal hairstyle, incredibly elegant and very much an A list hairstyle!
Once styled and tweaked I then attached the gorgeous pearl and diamond clip to the side of the chignon to add real sparkle and finesse!
Caroline's sister had been growing her hair to be able to have an updo for the wedding. We decided on a French pleat which is a very classical updo hairstyle. Styled with a slightly contemporary feel, by leaving pieces slightly tousled, it looked great!Clare Bryce arrived to do the girls make up whilst I was finishing the final details of the hair, once Clare had worked her usual magic they were all ready and looking amazing for the day ahead.
Just as I was leaving photographer Sarah Cameron arrived to capture all the special images of the day.
