Cripps Barn Wedding

I'm finding that Sunday weddings are becoming more and more popular and I get lots of requests to do wedding hair styling for them. Today I was styling hair for Rebecca's wedding was for who was getting married at Cripps Barn in the Cotswolds but the preparation for the wedding was at the beautiful 'New Inn' at Coln St Aldwyns just down the road.

Rebecca had 2 bridesmaids, 1 adult and 1 child. They both had very different hair, Molly had lovely blonde hair which I curled first then pinned into a tousled (but very secure) style with small gems fixed into it, a great style for a child bridesmaid or flower girl as it holds in very well and doesn't get in the way so looks good all day long!

The other bridesmaid had short brunnete hair which although short was perfect for curling with GHD's and pinning partly up to add some detail and fullness to the crown with gems adding detail to the area below the crown.

Rebecca's hair is naturally curly but like a lot of people with naturally curly hair it still requires a little bit of taming to make it look truly fantastic! I curled the hair all over with GHD's to do this and then gave it a small amount of backcombing on the crown to give lift followed by pinning the sides back.

The finishing touch was a beautiful crystal tiara which I fixed into place before leaving Rebecca and the girls to get ready for the rest of the day.

Tortworth Court Wedding hair

I had a very early start this morning, arriving at 6.30am to style hair for Liz and her 4 bridesmaids.

Liz was getting married at her local church then having the reception at the sumptious "Tortworth Court Hotel"

The bridesmaids all had very different hair types and lengths. A mixture of elegant chignons and half up curled styles with diamante clips gave the girls an elegant look.Liz's hair was curled with GHD's and styled with a full crown to compliment her jewelled headdress and veil.
Whilst styling the girls hair Sharon from Truly Gorgeous arrived to do the girls make-up, she made the girls look fantasic and soon wizzed off to do another wedding nearby.

Cowley Manor Wedding Hair

A busy week for me this week with 3 weddings and today was a fabulous wedding at the stunning boutique hotel Cowley Manor in the Cotswolds.

Lisa and her bridesmaids had stayed the night before at the Manor and were already being pampered by Claire (Pure Pampering) when I arrived.

Lisa's sister Jo asked for a tousled updo. I curled it first and then twisted individual pieces and pinned into place before finishing the style with small diamante hair jewels.

Bridesmaid Zoe wanted to keep some of her hair down and we decided on a great side style, finished with crystal hair jewels.

Lisa had fabulous rich brunette hair which she wanted to have half up. I curled her hair all over with heated rollers to give it body. I took the top and side pieces back and styled the hair into a twiting design, it looked fantastic. To finish the look Lisa had a beautiful pearl and crystal headdress whch looked perfect!

Luckington Court Wiltshire

Today's wedding was held at 'Luckington Court' in Wiltshire. The Queen Anne building sits at the end of a gravel drive in beautiful grounds with a simply beautiful Norman church standing a few paces through the gates adjacent to the gardens. Luckington was most famously used as the Bennet's home in the BBC adaptation of Jane Austen's 'Pride and Prejudice' with Colin Firth. This is one of the reasons that Vicki chose this beautiful venue. One of the lovely things about Luckington is that it is a privately owned family home and it feels very warm and welcoming. As I arrived the family's terrier even ran out to greet me!
Clare (Pure Pampering) was with me today doing the make up for the wedding party and she was already set up and working as I walked into the panelled bridal suite.
I started by putting chief bridesmaids hair into heated rollers as she was having a chignon and we needed to add body to the hair before it was styled and finished with a beautiful arrangement of flowers on a comb.
Vicki had asked for a casual looking tousled upstyle when we did the trial run. I curled her hair all over and then pinned it into place with the flowers adding detail to the one side. Vicki's fiance had also bought her a small Jane Austen cameo set onto a hairpin which Vicki had asked me to incorporate into the hairstyle, such a really lovely detail!

I blow dried Vicki's mothers hair once I'd finished the 2 girls and gave it lots of body ready for the beautiful hat she had chosen for the day.
We were really lucky to have such a sunny day for Vicki's wedding considering the wet week we'd had.
As I was leaving the girls to enjoy their day there was a real buzz as people were adding the final touches to the marquee which was grandly sitting on the lawns of Luckington Court.
